Comments: I do not readily give marks above 7. Two of the nicest things about Hans are honesty and diligence. He strives his hardest to give you a finished high quality product when you need it. And that means it gets done on time. Second, inevitably when you supply a translator with work, your work has mistakes in it. Hans lets you knwo his questions and hence you find out your mistakes. Most translators do not do this. Finally, you end up with a really good product for exceptional value, from Hans.

Comments: I am experienced at choosing translators. At present, for example, I have 20 translators working for me. I am a mathematician. The main problems I have faced are: 1. Translators that do not deliver anything 2. Translators who deliver weeks late 3. Translators who imagine what you are trying to say and then write down what have imagined. In terms of one and two, Hans is extremely reliable. In terms of 3, for complex language pairs like English/Mandarin, my experience is that a good translator inaccurately translates the important words of a complex document 20 percent of the time and suboptimally translates the important words of such a document another 20 percent of the time. You can only find this out if you get the document translated back into English. So this is what I do, some of the time. In my opinion Hans is 1.7 times more accurate than a typical good English/Mandarin translator. I have no hesitation in asking him to do more work for me.
