• I work at Flint Hill ES as a 2nd and 3rd grade Special Education teacher.
• I have 12 students on my case load that I am responsible for.
• Flint Hill ES has a inclusion model so I work with the General Education teacher in the classroom to provide services for my students.
• I occasionally pull my students out of the classroom to ensure their academic needs are met.
• I mostly teach self contained classes with my students in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
• My students have learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, Other Health Impairment, and autism.
• I was responsible for completing all IEP’s using our online data system.
• I kept track of all my students information by entering data into programs such as Microsoft word, excel, or designing a system that worked for me.

7/07 Navy Elementary School

• I taught summer school at Navy Elementary where I worked with Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students in a early literary program.

8/05- 5/06 Strathmore Elementary (Special Education Internship) Silver Spring, MD
• Planned and taught a variety of subjects including reading, math, social studies, and science in a fourth grade Learning Center.
• Worked with students who had a variety of disabilities including autism, mental retardation, severe learning disabilities, speech, and traumatic brain injury.
• Assisted in administering Qualitative Reading Inventory and other forms of reading assessments.
• Adapted lesson plans to meet the needs of students.
• Reviewed Individual Education Plans (IEP) and attended IEP Meetings.

8/05-present Strathmore Elementary (Elementary Education Internship) Silver Spring, MD
• Planned and taught a variety of subjects including reading, math, social studies, and science in a general education third grade classroom.
• Taught a reading unit on historical fiction which focused on how families lived in the past. The students created a book mobile at the end of the unit.
• Worked closely with at-risk students in the classroom on improving their reading and comprehension skills.
• Worked in a very diverse school and have learned how to work and communicate with students whose primary language was not English.
