Serenda is graduated in Journalism and has worked in several communication companies, such as newspapers, magazines, and, also, private schools in which she teached different subjects like design and English.

In her main profession, she would be commonly found in the past 15 years in the following positions:
- Newspaper head of journalists
- Magazine art editor and director
- Magazine and newspaper layout creator
- Writer

Due to the mentioned functions above, she found herself involved with a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Proofreading
- Ghostwriting
- Advertising creation
- Layout project development
- Mentorship
- Translation English/Brazilian Portuguese/English

She has been keeping an online graphic design community with over 900 members in which she publishes tutorials and teached them how to use Photoshop professionally. This activity attracted the attention of the Women in Technology (WIT) group of the Cascadia University, in Seattle, that hired her services as support to their classrooms, which proved to be a fruitful experience.

She has also been involved with the production, editing, scripting and direction of two video-documentaries and a short movie and with the transcription and subtitling of interviews for other projects.

As a journalist, she has worked with several rock and heavy metal bands as press assistant. Area in which she also worked with politics in campaign, developing their estrategy and speeches.

In the rare idle hours, Serenda is also known to be an English teacher, ranging from basic to advanced levels that would enhance the conversational skills of the students.

She has a special liking for SMF message boards and Tinyportal and finds entertaining to install their mods by hand, messing with the PHP coding.

Curious by nature, she has recently started trying her hand in 3D projects, learning to model in ZBrush, illustrating with Daz3D and creating content for the Second Life community, such as skins, eyes, clothes and buildings. In her plans is the learning of animation.
