EDDIE ROJAS – BIO - 2008

Eddie Rojas, is an enthusiastic, professional and experienced sound designer currently living in Toronto, specializing in Sound Effects, Dialogue and Foley for Film, animation and TV Series.

Eddie holds an Electrical Engineering background from the University of Ottawa which led him to the idea of not only designing audio-gear and software for the music and film industry, but to start using it professionally and creatively in order to bring together one of the most important elements in a visual production: The Sound Design.

After graduating from the Vancouver Film School back in 2004 and working in various audio post-production facilities in Toronto upon graduation like Sound Dogs Toronto, and various Music Production Facilities in Mexico in the early 2000’s, Eddie has now become a well known freelance sound designer not only for his versatility in working in both languages, Spanish and English - which have always been a positive asset for ADR work and dialogue editing, but also because of his extensive knowledge and domain on the world’s premier sound editing platform for both, the Music and the Film Industry: Pro Tools.

In addition to film, animation and TV projects, Eddie has actively sound designed interactive websites, authored pod casts, and created not only corporate training CDs, but also Interactive Media CD-ROMs.

Before immersing himself fully in the Film Industry, Eddie gained most of his team-work experience through sound engineering in sound re-enforcement applications in various concerts and on-stage performances, which have always promoted the importance of following specific directions on time, solving up-coming problems and situations immediately and keeping control over the desired end-result despite pressure and time frames. Eddie has definitely proven that deadlines are a priority in his career as a Sound Artist.

In the last few years, Eddie has been participating as a sound editor in various projects that have been involved in different kinds of awards, ranging for example, from “Best Short” and “Best Student Projects” to “Best International Latin American Cine Minutes” as such we can quote: “THE LOSS”, “DOGGY STYLE” and “CLASIFICADOS”.
His TV and film credits as sound designer and editor include the NRC (National Rally Championship) – for the FX Channel from FOX SPORTS, various Ryerson University Film Festivals like BORROWED TIME and THE LOSS, Latin American Film Festivals in Morelia and Guanajuato like SAL DE TI – a one hour long Docu-Drama, and RITCH, from Urbansoul Inc, amongst many other. He has also deeply enjoyed working on various 2D and 3D animations for the cartoon, video-game and “trailer” industry, most of which convey the epitome of his Creative and Unique Sonic Taste.
