WITSML stands for ‘Wellsite Information Transfer Standard Markup Language’ – is a standard (ref. http://www.witsml.org) for transferring rig-site data. This involves transferring real-time and historical data between offshore drill sites, onshore control centers, head quarter offices, remote export sites, etc. All data is transferred as WITSML documents, and is retrieved using SOAP.
