They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I see that as a challenge as a writer to put together a "picture" of words that is worth reading. A picture involves one form of design: composition, line, color, balance, etc. Writing involves design too: sound, syntax, sentence length, and punctuation that points the reader where he or she should be going. I am able to work in multiple styles: I know APA and MLA, and am increasing my competency in AP. I can write creatively and would be happy to provide a sample of one of my short stories or poems. My academic writing has been praised for its original ideas, as well as my writing style. To write is to create art. I am happy to have the chance to continue learning my craft.
