Advanced training designer.

After my second promotion, I was assigned a project that would test every skill in my set. I would be given a team of four multimedia designers to create a massive online multimedia learning tool for our Commercial Banking division. Nothing like this had been attempted before at JPMC - combining video production, multimedia design, flash animation and mixed internet technology (xml, js, html, css, web video).

My responsibilities for this project were vast:

Project Manager - Coordinated needs of LOB into a project plan that would accomplish all of the clients goals with a competitive final product.
Art Director - Provided daily art direction to team of four designers - video editing, flash animation, website design and construction and associated marketing materials.
Video Producer - Contracting of outside studio time, casting of talent, script coordination, talent direction, storyboarding, final editing.
Sr. Designer - Acted as senior designer in all aspects of this project (web, flash, video, marketing).

The project (appx. 2000+ hrs.) went off without a hitch, despite having over 150+ parts. It is the first of its kind for JPMC and I haven't been able to find anything else like it at any of our competitors sites. The project has been recognized by the Webby Awards and is up to win two of them this year.

May day to day responsibilities in this role consist of providing art direction to our offshore design team, providing ongoing creative project management with various clients, and providing senior level design expertise to improve existing UI.

Other points of success in this role:

Introduced, developed and tested JPMC Flex application
Introduced, designed and developed first online flash games for JPMC
Conducted and directed countless online marketing campaigns

Shortly After being promoted from my contractor position, our group went through a re-organization. During the re-org I was selected from the pool of designers to head a new, innovative design team.

Leaving the actual design of normal marketing campaigns behind, I was given a more visible role, coordinating 'new technology' campaigns for various LOBs.

My role in these campaigns would include providing art direction, project management and design for marketing that we as a company had not attempted before. Flex applications, web video, e-learning, rich media marketing campaigns - none of these had been tried before, and it was my responsibility to not only sell these ideas to our clients, but to orchestrate each project to its end. During this time I also experienced success on several re-design efforts for Morgan Online and Chase.

Coordinated several successful e-promotion campaigns entailing web site construction, corporate identity development, promotional material layout and design, and multimedia presentations.

Head Designer responsibilities include overseeing both planning and design aspects of all design contracts. Multimedia design using both Adobe and Macromedia suites, HTML and JavaScript coding, PHP, and Flash animation for both web and tangible media.

Contracted to RT&E Interactive, I developed and programmed several web sites, interactive games, Flash video for web projects, and Flash movies for promotional and instructional use.

Developed and implemented multiple new websites, using technologies such as ASP/SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, and Contribute.

Managed online creative projects promoting Delaware Lottery Products.

Maintained all web pages, member databases, mailing management servers and various other promotions for the Delaware Lottery.


5/2005 - 7/2005 Web Designer

Contracted for intranet site re-design for very large internal site called NutriNet.

Project consisted of taking content from an old version of a 400+ page site and building a completely new site that conforms to recently updated visual QC standards.

The old version of the site was in complete disarray, with unnamed folders, missing and bad links, botched initial site structure and various unnecessary technologies thrown together. My job was to start fresh using the content from the old site. This was a true 'ground-up' project that included site mapping, file/folder structuring, and building the individual pages utilizing HTML, ASP, CSS, PHP, and Javascript to conform to new corporate visual standards.

Project completed before schedule and under budget.



1/2005 - 3/2005 Instructional Multimedia Designer
ePharma Learning

A four month assignment that consisted of creating educational and informational presentations for major pharmaceutical companies.

Created Flash eLearning classroom and assessment modules using existing video, audio, and print media to be used in the clinical trail study processes. Modules mainly consisted of Flash tutorials, practices, and assessments, including quizzes and tests.

Flash pieces were then packaged for cd-rom and web utilization via LMS. Successful campaign client list includes AstraZeneca, Glaxo Smith Kline, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson.

The majority of clients contracted to me were Real Estate and Mortgage related. Features that were incorporated into these sites included virtual tours of homes, property listings, mortgage applications, loan applications, and other financial form processing.

Most sites were designed using Photoshop and Illustrator for the interface part of the process, then sliced and assembled in Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. Many of the sites also included both Flash and scripting such as PHP, ASP, and Javascript.
