You may not copy, transfer, lend, gift, or bequeath these items, link to them, sell them, or use them in any way on another site.

When You Hire Me, You Will Not Be Exposed to Unknown Partners

I encourage you to take a look at my buyer section, and then compare it to my provider section. You will quickly notice that I do not attempt to obtain samples, nor do I purchase/attempt to purchase materials from other providers. When you buy articles from me, you can be assured that I am the one doing the writing. I do not own a writing house, or a team; although I am happy to work for both types of buyers.

Imagine how you would feel to get an email demanding that you remove content because it was plagiarized. Unfortunately, I have had to deliver this message to webmasters numerous times. In each case, the ususpecting business owner purchased the articles from another provider. The bottom line is simple. You just can't afford to take this kind of chance with your online reputation, anymore than you can with your personal life.

Copyright Infringement Procedure and Policy:

(My appologies to LEGITIMATE and HONEST buyers for such a ruthless looking policy section. Dealing with what appear to be jealous, untalented, lazy businesses/individuals that steal and libel tends to bring out the "legal eagle" in me.)

As a veteran freelance writer, I am fully versed in the use of Copyscape, and use it routinely on my own portfolio. Should I find my content being used on another site, I am more than willing to file a DCMA complaint, as well as report the violation of my intellectual property rights to any other authorities, agencies, lawyers, or businesses as I see fit.

Please note - since my portfolio articles have been stolen numerous times, any and all articles misappropriated from my portfolio/domain/private messages will automatically cost $100.00 USD, and be assessed an interest rate of 5% compounded daily from the date the theft is discovered. I reserve the final right to determine which cases will be followed up with an initial bill and a lawsuit. Furthermore, I am not obligated to inform copyright infringer that a bill or lawsuit may be pending. This policy also applies retroactively to ALL materials from my business and personal activities.

Failure to Disclose Complete Project Specifications:

When time and cost estimates are given, they include research, developing the content, and anti-plagiarism check. If you do not tell me up front that textalyzer and other such programs must be used, a penalty of $50.00 will be assessed per article. In addition, materials will not be released until this fee is paid. Failure to pay within 24 hours will result in materials being placed in my portfolio. Fines and interest will accrue accordingly from that point on the unpaid balance.

Contact Procedure:

As a provider here at GAF, I am obligated to refrain from giving you my contact information before you select me for a project. Unless you have created a full time project, please do not send me a PMB asking me to contact you outside of the GAF site, or attempt to solicit my contact info. I will not contact you outside of the GAF system, nor will I provide this information until I am selected for the project.


Portfolio Article Sale Procedure:

If you want to purchase materials in my portfolio, I am open to making special arrangements. Ownership of my content does not transfer to you until full payment is made. At that time, I will remove the materials from my server.


Payment Arrangements:

I prefer GAF escrow, but will also accept Paypal. If we arrange to work with direct Paypal, you will need to make regular payments during the submission and approval process. If you fail to make prompt payments, I am not responsible for delays in project completion. As an example, if the project duration is 10 days, and I make a payment request on the 5th day; one day will be added to the project completion date for every day that payment remains outstanding.

This is what Happens When You Fail to Pay:

Within 24 hours of failing to make contact, failing to make payment, or within 10 minutes of my discovering you reversed a payment, all items will be placed in my portfolio. From there, in order to gain full rights to the articles, you will be charged the article price, plus 5% interest compounded daily. (Note: I reserve the right to make exceptions on a circumstantial basis.)

Can Scammers and Deadbeats Initiative:

Somewhat to my ire, my portfolio samples have been stolen far too many times. To add insult to injury, very recently it came to my attention that another GAF member may be slandering me via the private message system, as well as around the internet. As a result of this member coming out into the open, there are now publically documented attempts to stalk, harass, and libel me here on GAF. Because of this, and other experiences, I am a firm advocate of contacting GAF and asking for them to make the following changes:

1. Any provider that bids on a project can leave a feedback at any time in order to report stolen or misappropriated goods and services. In order to get this feedback removed, provider would have to enter into GAF's new arbitration process.

2. Any selected service provider should be able to rate buyers irregardless of whether or not the escrow system is used. This includes rating and making comments on failure to pay.

3. Seperate cancelled projects from ones where buyer selects a provider.

A note to my colleages:

Please feel free to adopt my policies for your own freelance efforts, and note as such in your profile.

I also encourage other providers to create portfolios that will make it easier to prove copyright of intellectual property, as well to levy fees and fines as needed. As always - check with your lawyer to make sure you have everything in place to take any action that you deem necessary.

Anti-Plagiarism Initiative and Updates

Year 2008

CASE 1: Multiple items were stolen from my portfolio. I filed a DCMA complaint, as well as contacted web host of infringing sites. Articles were removed from multiple servers.

CASE 2: One article was found on an infringing server. Administrator was notified, and content was removed.

Year 2009

Case 1: 1 500 word article stolen. Update 9/2/09 - DCMA complaint has been filed, since offending domain owner has not removed my materials.
