I gained college knowledge and technical understanding of film photography, as well as course studies in Flash Presentation, and image manipulation through Adobe Photoshop CSII Designers Series, at Scottsdale Community College’s Film School.
While practical experience in the application of these studies was achieved through actual hands-on tenure, shooting and touching digital and film photography dating back to the 1.2 mega pixel era. Although I don’t get to shoot much film any more, I still have a full darkroom in my home, having always processed my own work. There is just something about a 14x20 glossy…it takes on a life all its own.
Fast forward to the present and you’ll find me on some double diamond, capturing my subject using a digital8 on a steadicam, while snowboarding 20 feet to the right at speed. Or riding backwards on a Bombardier quad, deep in the Sonoran Desert, shooting the riders just a few feet behind with my new Sony a100 10.2, as the pack moves along doing 35mph. I guess I like the extreme subject in its native environment, to keep thing interesting.
