English proofreading, editing and re-writing carried out at the highest level, with guaranteed excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation and presentation results. US to UK English localisation/adaptation also offered, as well as typing, transcribing and original writing.

A freelance one-woman business. I hold a diploma in Proofreading and am currently working towards another.

Being a lover of language, I am very committed to accomplishing perfection in the written word and consider my ability with spelling, grammar, punctuation etc. to be of the highest standard. As I have a keen eye (and ear) for detail, I pick up on mistakes and am able to achieve flawless final results. Furthermore, with a good knowledge and awareness of the many differences between US and UK English, I am capable of working with both and of carrying out 'translations' from one to the other.

I have worked on a variety of texts, including legal, technical and commercial documents as well as several medical papers. A number of my previous projects have been adaptations of US to UK English, which I feel I have carried out very well. Also, I have worked for non-native English speakers a fair bit and have helped them with their English writing, transforming text to appear as if it were written by a native English speaker.

While the majority of my training has been based on paper, hand-writing corrections with the official proof-correction marks, most of the projects I have undertaken have been done on a computer, usually using Microsoft Word Track Changes but I can easily work on clean or original files, writing everything myself as I go.
