I am retired Navy and am currently a Foster dad of three medically-fragile children.
My list of skills: 1200 PSI Steam Plant supervisor, OSHA inspector, LAN Administrator, award-winning Database Programmer, Realtor, Immigration Records Technician, Shipboard Security Supervisor, Shipboard Armed Response Team Leader, Postal Retail Associate, Transportation Supervisor, Counselor, Firefighter, Firefighting Team Investigator...and a host of smaller, less noteworthy positions. Yes, I HAVE done all these.
My list of experiences: I grew up in the Deep South, escaped to the Navy, saw the world (I have been to 14 other countries and now own property and a business in the Philippines), learned the error of my racist upbringing, and am the luckiest guy on the planet. I've been 1200 feet underwater; shot off a catapult; scalped (by what I still don't know); lost on the streets of Bangkok, Nagasaki, and Nairobi; summited mountaintops; watched a swarm of ten (10!) waterspouts...and I truly have that host of sea-stories expected of every retired sailor.
My two remaining professional goals in this life are to write and to teach.
