Education: B.A degree English Language and Culture (latterly called as Translation and Interpretation) Tianjin Foreign Languages Institute, Skills and Expertise Translation/Interpretation from English to Simplified Chinese, most skilled areas include: -Business and commerce -Architectural decoration -Logistics and shipping -Computer hardware and software Experience and Qualifications After gaining a BA’s degree in English Language and Culture from Tianjin Foreign Language Institute in 1997, I commenced my career as a professional translator/interpreter with Huishun Decoration Engineering Co. I was honored to work for Motorola during the construction of its chip factory in Tianjin. As a chief translator/interpreter, I played a key role from the very beginning of the bidding of the project to the proceeding of the whole performance of all the architectural decoration contracts. This experience was really a challenge and proved to help me enormously in improving my ability and confidence, which influenced my whole career life thereafter. I learned the 2 most important things as a qualified translator/interpreter: seriousness and persistence. After my marriage, I helped my husband set up his own company, dealing with computer hardware and network installations. I acquired much hardware knowledge during the selling and the certification course and exam of MCSE taught me many software and network terms and theories. When the company went onto the right road, I entered into to a brand new trade to me i.e. shipping. Helping China’s major exporters find vessels to ship out their cargoes worldwide, I learned a lot about logistics and shipping; my ability of negotiation and communication in English is highly enhanced meanwhile. Starting from 2005, I launched my freelance career in translation and interpretation. With over 10 years working experience, the assignments I completed were not just the transferring of meanings from one language to the other literally, but with a deep understanding of the contents so as to offer the readers a clear vision in their own language. With many tasks from customers in different trades, my knowledge scale is largely broadened and the life to me is full and fresh everyday. Major projects include: -Motorola Mos-17 and A-101 contracts bidding and implementation. -Interpretation for the meeting between Bechtel Inc. Asia Pacific President and vice mayor of Tianjin. -Technology and chemical product manuals translation -Commentaries of famous museums and scenic spots
