I love design, and I applaud anyone who knows good design. In a day and age when ease-of-use technology allows and low budgets force the masses to make their Microsoft® “masterpieces” a commonplace phenomenon, good design is becoming more and more rare.

It’s up to those with the artist’s eye to sift through the rubbish and compose a truly awe-inspiring piece of direct mail, a quilting brochure, store signage or the boss’ daughter’s wedding invitations.

I have been in this industry for nine years and have seen so many examples of superb, and gut-wrenchingly awful designs. Artistic talent is rarely a learned trait, but inherent in all of us, and that it is up to us to develop these skills as we would a musical talent. It takes practice and knowledge of the craft.

I have been successfully running my own freelance company from home for the past five years under the name Expressive Graphic Design and Advertising. My personal clients have included The American Heart Association, the 3M corporation, the U.S. Government, CDI Media and The Imagination Place (Salt Lake Music Together).

My past experience in advertising agencies and my freelance work over the years, has more than qualified me for this opening. I look forward to our correspondence and further opportunities to prove my worth and to expand my knowledge of one of my greatest passions in life.
