Dr E D F (Don) Williams was on the staff of the University of Cape Town as directory of the Electron Microscope Unit and later as Director of the Institute for Electron Microscopy of the MRC in the Cape. In 1971 he was elected an Honorary Research Fellow of University College London. In 1982 he and his family left SA to live in Finland. He occupies himself doing private research into fresh water microbiology (microscopy), writes for Finnish Industry and edits research papers for several academic institutions. He has published many scientific papers and is the author of two novels.
