Sep 1996 – Feb 1997 Professional Experience: Project #1 Mar 2004 – to date Client El Paso Energy Corp (SONAT) USA Project Title Premier - Conversion Environment .NET C# Position Design / Developer Description In this project we convert the existing system from VC++ 6.0 / Oracle 8 to a complete .NET C# 2.0 / Oracle 9i System. This project is of two fold, I. Horizontal migration, II. Vertical migration. Part I of the project is what I am involved in and this phase includes creating Custom controls for the user interface and application development. The output of this assignment is to provide a powerful and very useful controls and template code for the developer to design and develop logics to build the business objects and screens. This is being done in parallel to the maintenance project described in Project #2. Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for designing and developing the custom controls specific to the project needs. Also, responsible for training the developers to use these controls efficiently in the project. Also, I am responsible to develop a VC++ to C# converter, that can convert code written using VC++ 6.0 / Roguewave and other third party tools. This converter is meant to convert the business objects in premier which is part of the Vertical Migration project. Also, My most recent [ since April 2007 ] and challenge that I am undertaking is writing a C++ to C# Conversion tool. Which is almost complete and that is going to be used in the phase II Project. Project #2 Oct 2002 – to date Client El Paso Energy Corp (SONAT) USA Project Title Premier (EDI) Environment VC++6.0, Oracle 7.3, CORBA, Roguwave Position Design / Developer Description This is basically a conversion project. All the Business rules / Business Validation rules are now written in the PL/SQL part of the Premier (Project #2) system. The ultimate aim of this project is to convert them all into VC++ 6.0 (which is now the middleware) layer where all the other business processes are taken care. This includes 6 Database packages. This is the additional assignment with the other main project (Premier). Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for doing Analysis and design & develop the new system using OO Methodologies. Also, responsible for developing reusable/generic utility classes for this EDI system. Project #3 Feb 2000 – to date Client El Paso Energy Corp (SONAT) USA Project Title Premier Environment Vision Jade 4.0, C++, Oracle 7.3, CORBA Position Design / Developer Description This package has been developed using Oracle7.3.1, C++ to build the Business Objects, CORBA to make the Interface between the Business Objects and the Front-end, Vision Jade 4.0 (Java based) on Windows environment to make up the Front-end. The User Interface communicates to the database through the Business Logic Servers which intern interacts with the C++ Objects through the CORBA interface. Developing Business Objects using C++ and User Interface using Vision Jade 4.0 and creating Stored Procedures are the core part of the work that is going on in this project. This Project has been developed for Southern Natural Gas Corporation. This System takes care of all the transactions that occur on the pipelines called Southern Natural Gas, South Georgia Pipeline, Destin Pipeline and Sea Robin. This System is responsible for keep track of the Contracts made on the flow of gas and the lifetime of the contracts. It includes some batch processes running at the end of every gas flow cycles for each day and produces reports that help the business people to make decisions. Also, it takes care of the billing cycles of each contract and notifies the customer through e-mail when required. Role and Responsibilities Responsible for converting the User Interface of this application from Vision Jade .1 to Versata 5.5. Member of the core team involved in Analysis, Design and Development and Maintenance of the next generation Web based application meant for letting the users to monitor and work with the real time system. Project #4 Oct 1999 – Dec 1999 Client Reliant Petroleum Inc, India. Project Title TAS – Terminal Automation System Environment Visual C++ 6.0, Windows NT Position Associate Consultant Description This project was developed for automating the fuel filling system. Among the modules available in the package, Bay Allocation is the one that takes care of assigning the Bay for a truck, based on the fuel requested and the availability of the Bay. This process is triggered by the other module in the system that enables the request of a truck for the bay to be allocated, if it finds it, then it will pick up the truck details from the database and it will directly allocates the bay for that truck with the criteria specified for the truck. After assigning the bay, it will update the database accordingly, so that it can be reflected in the GUI. Also, this module is available as a DLL that could be reused by any executable in the system when and where it is required. Role and Responsibilities Involved in Designing the database for Bay Allocation module and developed a prototype for the integrated system. Developed the Bay allocation module. Involved in Integration of the modules and testing. Project #5 Sep 1997 – Oct 1999 Client HCL Info Systems Pvt Ltd, India. Project Title FlowStream Environment C++, HP-UX & VMS Systems Position Associate Consultant Description FlowStream is a product exclusively meant for automating production line in pharmaceutical industries. It is a Manufacturing Execution System Software. This product delivers the manufacturing solutions using integrated real time management tools. It provides execution control over the process, production & management resources and their utilization. This project has been designed in three-tier architecture, which includes the layers in three levels. The lower level takes care of the database processes and the middle level layer does the business processes and the upper layer actually deals with the user interface. OOAD methodology has been imposed to design this project. This has been developed in such a way that it can work on both the HP-UX and VMS systems. Identifying and fixing bugs and adding some additional features with existing modules are the main tasks of this current phase of this project. Role and Responsibilities Member of a core team and Involved in Analysis, Design and development phases of the project. Mainly of fixing Bugs and Enhancing the features as requested by the customer.
