• Currently undertaking an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems at the London School of Economics and Politics (LSE).

• Graduated in July 2005 from the University of Leicester (UK), with a second upper (honours) in BA Business Economics. An active, energetic student, not only in my studies but also within the university’s Investor Society, where I acted as Public Relations Officer. • Developed intrapersonal skills at a young age with a very positive experience acting as Quality Director for “Wood-U” a young enterprise company which achieved second place in the Maltese National Competition and Best Company in the European Trade Fair.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

My work experience has been limited to a number of two to three month internships during my summer holidays, and has included:

• July-September ‘01: Summer placement at PwC Malta working as a technical assistant in their IT support department.

• July-September ‘02: Summer placement, again with PwC Malta, working as a junior auditor. My two placements at PwC were highly demanding but also rewarding as I obtained a good insight in the way professional firms are organised.

• July-September ’04: One summer with an English language school (EF) working as a group leader (Holiday Representative) with responsibility for organising and participating in tours and social outings for successive groups of circa 45 - 60 students.

Most Notable Skills

• Management: Being a “Holiday Rep” has thought me a lot about managing people, I now feel especial confident in scheduling and planning projects as well as monitoring and controlling them.

• Strong analytical and reasoning skills gained from my BA in Economics.

• Communication: My work experience and extra-curriculum activities have helped me develop proper communication skills. Be it from, troubleshooting systems through a phone, explaining to a client why I need a particular file or clarifying the day’s activities to 60 students who do not understand English, I have primed my communication skills to what I feel is a good level.

• Writing style and technique: I have always been an enthusiastic writer, even though my spelling is impaired by mild dyslexia. I have written technical, research work for academic reasons whilst also writing articles for the student newspaper. My passion for writing is exhibited through my more humours writings on my personal web page, and more opinionated works on my blog. I am also a keen reader and I occasionally write poetry.

INTERESTS


Interests: My interests are varied in nature. There is a sense of adventure in me that requires to try new things and that is what leads me to my main interest that is to travel and experience different lifestyles and cultures. This attraction extends to sailing and snow-boarding.

Although very sociable, I also have a more calm side and I enjoy reading and writing as already mentioned.

Computing has always been a passion of mine, I enjoy strategic computer games, and I am particularly interested in all aspects of the internet, it’s economic mechanics as well as its marketing aspects.







OTHER SKILLS

Driving Licence: Maltese driving license that can be easily converted to a British driving licence.


Languages spoken: Fluent in English, Maltese and Italian however I am not adept at writing in Italian.

Computer Literacy:

• An above average understanding of all Windows versions to date, including networking capabilities.

• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.

• Confident on Power-point

• Basic understanding of MS Access, HTML, C++ and MicroFit

• I am also very able with internet marketing and search engine optimisation techniques.
