For all those GetAFreelancer project seekers who need Wikipedia writers - BEWARE!
Due to the complexities of Wikipedia publishing, I wouldn't trust any company that promises they'll get you included in Wikipedia for anything less than $200. Certainly not for $30! Are you kidding? If they are bidding on $30 or $40 for an entire Wikipedia article, then they are offshore, have no reputation, and I wouldn't trust that person's command of the English language.
This is not a criticim but a statement of cold reality. Wikipedia editors are merciless with respect to grammatical errors, self-promotional tone, unsourced claims, and improper Wikipedia style and syntax. We want to warn the project requestors of freelancers/companies who claim they can do a good job at Wikipedia publishing for these outrageously low rates. Just the sheer research ALONE would cost more than what most of these quacks are charging!
Moreover, I think the GetAFreelancer Community should be aware that Wikipedia editors and administrators have you on notice. Why It Is Difficult to Be Included in Wikipedia
Of course, being one of the most well-respected and authoritative sources of information dissemination on the Web means that the Wikipedia editorial board can be extremely selective of the articles that "make it in" as well as those which "stay on board." Wikipedia editors and moderators are highly critical and extraordinarily merciless of spam, self-promotion, solicitation or lack of adequate citation - and will quickly delete any articles which appear as such.

For these reasons, getting your article included into Wikipedia - not to mention keeping your article from getting deleted - can be an extremely daunting task. Furthermore, you have to be pretty familiar with Wiki (BBC) code in order to even get your article to display properly. Because of this, businesses and individuals who would otherwise qualify for inclusion are not included simply because they do not know how to write in Wiki code.
