Description

My goal is a user-friendly ‘content-managed web directory’ program/application with simple navigation. I have secured the domain name. There will be very few images on the directory other than advertising imagery. Verdana will be the system default font. This web site directory will be free, like craig’s list. There are no membership fees and you don’t have to give your email address to use the directory.
I see this project as self sustaining in a 2 year period through advertising on the web site through banner and side ads.
I would generate income from category advertising throughout the site. Page advertising options: category, sub-category and side button ads.
There will be no buying or selling of products on this directory.

Can advertising space be secured by credit card? There are technologically-saavy end users that can create and could upload their own banner ad. For future discussions.

Main features of the directory:
1.SEARCH: I plan to take this national some day but need to saturate my local city. I am allowing for a drop down search capability for states and categories for future growth.
2.JOIN FORM: The JOIN form, once populated, would need to feed into a DB and display within 24hrs (?) I do not want to enter all data as the end-users can do it themselves online. I plan to bring a laptop(s) with me to events. (I understand I will enter names initially and ongoing until the directory becomes more well known and a self operating web site.)
3.JOIN FORM ADDRESS CHECKER: For example: St. vs. STREET The JOIN form would prompt the user to verify the information if something is not typed exactly in the national address DB.
I am anticipating a timeframe of approx. 30 working days.
