Description

I am looking for an experienced Pyhton developer to write a GUI for the rsync file transfer program according to my specifications. The application must work on both Windows(Vista, XP, Server 2003 and Server 2008) and Linux(RPM and DEB based distros).

The application must support automatic backup scheduling, manual backups, backup of individual files/folders, easy restore, logging, and be designed from the ground up with security in mind.

The GUI should resemble an FTP program and be as lightweight as possible. It would also be nice to allow for email reporting if a backup has not been performed in x amount of time.

For Windows, an NSIS installer would be ideal, and for Linux, RPM and DEB files should be available. I wish to retain all copyrights and source code to the program.

I am an 5 years + system engineer on Both *Nix and Widnows server platforms ,have done an RSYNC GUI Client a year ago using C++ for Windows servers for our Data Center needs (screen shot avaliable on request) . I have well enough experience in *NIX and Win* platforms and i can easily do this project. 14 days Max . I can use GTK or wxWidgets via Python , choose which you prefer.
