Bid On This Project

Description

Hi There,

The winning bid is going to be the one that answers all my questions and can prove you can meet my requiresments. Dont copy and paste your bids, write something specific. I know your busy, I am a web designer too. And I have work for you. We'll split it 50/50 of what my client pays me. There will be repeat work. Pay attention. Get a cup of coffie, sit back, take a deep breath, and sell yourself to me, in good english, and with some detail. You'd be amazed - this is what us buyers are looking for, especially in America.

Ok, my web design clients are asking me web sites they can edit themselves. I am low cost provider and the only solution I can do by myself is Adobe Contribute. This would take some training and support, and they cant afford to pay me for it. I dont want to waste a bunch of hours training people on Adobe Contribute. I need an easy web site that the customers can change the content themselves. An EASY solution, easy enough so that an old person who never owned a computer can use...easy enough so that a person who does not understand abstract thinking can understand. For example, how many farmers in the middle of nowhereville, Missippi do you think understand computers? They know a lot about milking cows, and riding horses, but you are going to have to come up with a solution they can understand. Everything should be changable with your solution, except maybe the number of pages/navigation. You should be able to take any design, any template, or any existing site, and add your solution to allow the customer to change the content. I have some current customers that ask about editing there own web site. And I have some that want it designed from scratch. If your solution isnt easy enough for a computer dummy, easier then Adobe Contribute, then the people that are milking the cows and never touched a computer wont buy from you/us. If you do a good job they might give us some free corn, maybe even a free horse...in addition to the cash.

Now then, in your bid please address and answer all of the following requirements by number.
1) Your portfolio of sites and expeirence in similar jobs will help me sell it to my clients. You will become one of my designers, and I will say "my designers have designed the following sites", and list yours, and give you the work . I am not stealing your portfolio, I am using it to sell you as my designer.
2) In reference to number one, please LIST EHE PORTFOLIO EXAMPLES of web sites you have created that can be changed by the client. If you have a demo login and password, let me know.
3) The portfolio examples cannot say "site designed by" you, that will not help me sell it under my company name.
4) You cannot steal my clients, and if I get busy, you will be talking with them directly, maybe even the initial consultation. Can you speak good english to american clients? Remember, anwswer these one by one.
5) How do I know you are honest and wont steal my clients?
6) What hours/days are do you have an english speaking person available? Answer in Eastern standard time.
7) How long have you been in business?
8) Where are you located?
9) Although I have never given a customer a refund, I may have to, in rare circumstances, you would not get paid either. This has never happened, but if it does, and I already paid you, you would pay me back. This is especially important for credit card chargebacks, this has never happened, but if it does, you would pay me back or not get paid. I take steps to prevent this, like showing the customer the design before we proceed further.
10) Revisions - this is part of web design, it may take some work before the client is happy. Even AFTER I paid you, my clients still request revisions, which you would do.
11) You setup the email.
12) You use my hosting, my merchant accounts, and offer my templates before yours. You setup the email.
13) You are bididng on a four page web site, including a contact form, and a mapquest directions page.
14) Offer me one option at $150 if you can, or less if you can, and then offer one for $250, if you can. Or offer whatever you can, including more then one option(s). All packages are a 4 page website with a contact form and a mapquest directions page. List any upgrades you'd like to offer.
15) Is your soltuion easy enough for a Missippi farmer who never touched a computer?
16)Can he edit the site himself?
17) Do you have a toll free number?
18) Do you have any experience/portfolio with adsense/wordpress?
17) If my client gives me a free chicken on top of cash, would you let me keep the chicken?

You should be finished with that cup of coffie by now. Note that half of the bidders didn't answer my questions and arent sure how much to bid. Some wont answer with correct english. A couple will bid $5 and one strange fellow will bid $30,000. I dont know why this happens, but it usually does. If you put your information in the bid rather then a pm, it helps with quick screening. And if you forget to list example portfolio sites with websites that are editable by the client, and dont say "site designed by" you, I will definatley not let you keep the chicken. Your english better be good, because not even I can understand some of the rural accents from the Missippi farmers.

Hi, I must answer all your questions before my second cup of coffee gets cold. 1. I have designed a lot of sites and all are online as at now. Below are the few that have what you are requesting for. (a) www.fsibinsurancebrokers.com: Site technology - PHP/MySQL and a whole lot of Ajax. I was working for a media company (www.anofftechnologies.com) when I did this site. The site admin has the ability to change the texts on the site and add new articles on the site. I did a whole lot more to this site like creating a user login module where users can login and check what their credit score is at and how many days or months or years they have left with insurance company. It even comes with its own timing system. (b) www.shoreline-power.com: Site technology - PHP/MySQL, Ajax, Javascripts. it’s a really simple site though. I was given the design and was asked to implement the mini-content management system. Each page text is editable. Plus products may be added, edited and deleted as the admin wishes. Login page for the admin panel is www.shoreline-power.com/admin/. User name and pass is for me to know. That cup of coffee is getting cold. © http://beta.impact85.com: Site technology - PHP/MySQL ( I guess you know the drill now). I was hired to implement the mini-content management system on this site. It was an experiment and soon to be someone’s site. Just keep adding /admin to the end of each link and you should see the login page. I hope this is enough for my portfolio else I can send you more. (2) No I have no samples of what you want online. I would say you should use Shoreline’s as an example but the company will sue me if they find out that I am using their site for portfolio examples. Sorry Bloke. But if it is any consolation I may design something with that functionality and host on your server for them to see as an example. (3) If I am designing an example (which is going to be for free in the first place) you will definitely have your name (company name) on it. (4) Steal your clients? I have no intentions of doing that to you. What goes around comes around you know. I guess by now you should know that my English is good. Its my basic language. I was the only science student in school that did Literature. (5) I don’t know. I just know that I am not interested in stealing clients. Cos somebody may do it to me and I will not like it. (6) I will be available 11:00AM GMT till 4PM. Anyone wants to chat on projects can send me a PM. I will be waiting. (7) I kind of forgot the silver spoon in my moms womb. I came out with a Mac. I have been in web designs for over 4 years. I only just joined the freelancers club recently and have finished some projects with them. (8) Now don’t get scared if I answer this question. I am a Nigerian. And I live in Nigeria. Yeah we are not all frauds. I have worked with some law enforcement agencies here to catch some mice. Well mainly as a consultant and programmer. (9) I hate it when a client I work for don’t pay and then uses the designs. But I in this case understand you when you say clients wants refunds. I would prefer this. I get paid 60% upfront and when I am done I get paid the remaining. I will refund the money if the clients want a refund though it would hurt but I have good faith. You drinking some coffee there cos I think I am going overboard here. (10) Even till now sites I designed 2 months ago are subject to change sometimes. Before we start the client will have to agree on design templates and functionality; basically tie them to some agreement. I will do changes so far they are minor. (11) Yes I set up the emails. (12) Yes to that too. I use your hosts. But they must have PHP/MySQL enabled. (13)That is ok. I could do more but let the client decide. (14) I don’t do any site for less than $200 and I would offer you a site for $240. You get a four page website with a contact page and mapquest. Plus you get a mini content management system to go with it. So we have the old men still milking cows and not going to web design schools. More may be added to increase interactivity and productivity. Date and time systems, contact page form validations, photo gallery you name it I give it to them. Boy you sure do have a lot of questions. (15) My solutions are good enough for Kindergarten students. Farmers will definitely be able to use this. (16) Sure He/She may edit site by himself. (17) Nope. I have no such thing. You will have to call me or we do the IM thingy. (18) I have some experience in Wordpress, Joomla, Mambo and Drupal. (19) I love chicken. But you could send me the corns if you want. Phew. That was a long one but I hope I am good for you. Will be expecting your reply. Thank you. Jacob Ekanem Feels Good Media.

Hello, first off I can actually follow directions AND speak english! (I am located in Florida) I am fresh to this online freelancing, but have been doing consulting with local small businesses for 5 years now. I have a complete portfolio at http://claimid.com/ of all the various stuff I have done. Hahnandhahnteam.com, devonandme.com, thedisneyblog.com and wphills.com are all user editable. If needed, I can easily remove the designed by me from my 3rd party clients. I speak english goodly :) and deal with my existing customers over the phone all the time. For what you are wanting, I say why reinvent the wheel? The solutions I would recommend are: -Wordpress/Wordpress MU -A custom SQL based solution using TinyMCE for the customer to enter data. I can't prove to you that I would not steal clients, but I can give you my word. I am available early mornings, late afternoons and evenings EST on weekdays, all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I run my own linux server, so I am used to setting email and such up. Considering I have a customer who barely speaks english and can use what I gave her, I think my solution is pretty good. I don't have a toll free number at this time, but heavily use Skype. I used to use wordpress for my site and have helped with adsense on my customer's site. I guess you can keep the chicken and maybe give it as a gift to the Mississippi farmer?
