Bid On This Project

Description

We have a database with over 1,000,000 SHA1 hashes of copyrighted pictures. (we have no access to the real images though)
We need to scan a lot of workstations to see if they have these images illegaly copied onto their hard drives.
No problem of course if all these images are unmodified, we just hash the local images and if they are the same as in the database we have a "positive".

But if someone has altered the image a bit on his PC, it will not be recognised by the system, because the hash string will be different.

So we need a "similar to" or "partial positive" comparison. Vey much like the technology used in www.tineye.com

Can someobe build this for us?
Preferably in Ruby, but anything else is fine as long as it runs on Linux.

Greetings, I am Stephan Shere with EXQSD. I have reviewed TinEye.com and have an understanding of how it works. I have over 12 years of software development experience and have been working with various databases for over 7 years. This project can be "finalized" quickly, although sites such as this tend to see upgrades very often after the first version is complete. I will be happy to work with you and assist you in the future, as well as designing the spiders if needed to fill the database with images and the data associated with them if the spider has not already been created. My bid is based on 30 days for the completion of: - Algorithm to determine percent of 2 images "likeliness". - Front ends to the design which will include AJAX & XML. - Backends which will consist of PHP and MySQL. (I understand that Ruby On Rails is preferred, however I am more proficient in PHP. If ROR is NEEDED, I will be open to going that route.)

Yes. Ready to start. I can implement a QBIC system, that is a query by image content system. google for QBIC sir... We used that tecnology for breaking some strange captcha, we compared 16.000 images, never 1.000.000, but we can give it a try. Mary Ann offsecure.com

I could create a Python or C application (your choice) that uses OpenCV to detect images that have undergone resizing, color modification, or other simple transformations you may anticipate users performing on the images. I would be happy to take on this project for you.
