Description

My programming team is using delphi 7. We only need the Clientsocket and serversocket components under the "internet" category modified. A client needs to be able to specify to which number in the server he wants to be connected.

At default, the serversocket uses a listbox and ads new clients to the listbox, in the order they connect. I need the clients to connect to the same spot each time, thus, making the client able to specify to where they want to connect to.

By default whenever a delphi client connects to a delphi server it connects to the number 0, and goes up from there, for each client that connects. But what i need is that the client specify the number he wants to connect to, so that, even when there is no one else online, a client can connect to any spot. The client must be able to specify this.

Dear Corné, My team (3 developers) is using Delphi too. I have 13+ years of very active experience in Delphi & we can implement anything using Delphi. As I understand correctly you use own logic of connection pool based on ListBox & you want to allow client to work with the same connection to which it was connected first time. Please confirm. During connection to server client uses API functions which do not allow to pass additional parameters to the server.
