Description

We run an online photo agency, serving photos, ilustrations and movie clips to customers mainly in Scandinavia and Europe. What we need is a pricing calculator, where clients can calculate a price for the type of license they need. The price for an image is calculated from a set base price for a certain usage, which is then multiplied depending on factors such as size, print run and time.

The calculator should work the same way as the calculator at gettyimages.com (viewable if you create a user account there - it's free), and have the same categories and uses. There should be a back-end admin interface where categories, base prices and multipliers can be easily managed.

Prices that are created are to be stored in a database table along with the generated licensing terms (this information is later used to put a generated price and license in the customers cart for checkout).

We need this in Ruby on Rails with a MySQL DB so it's easily integrated with the rest of our site, and would prefer an ajaxed web 2.0 version.

If we are satisfied with the results from this project, there will be more work later.
