Description

This project is to develop a website to run alongside our membership card scheme which is currently being developed. The membership card will entitle people to discounts in selected local bars and clubs (merchants). We do not need you to work on the membership card itself, but on the website to support our scheme.

Examples of such websites can be found here:
http://www.isiccard.com/
http://www.nusextra.co.uk/

These websites allow you to register with them, and to purchase a membership card from the website. Our website must work in a similar way, although customized to our specifications.

It must have a high level of design, with the feel of the above websites. Another website that we like the style of is:
http://www.revolution-bars.co.uk/

This will be the process people go through to receive a card:
1) Visit our website
2) Sign up to our website
3) Log in, order and pay for a membership card
4) Receive card in the post

A user must provide all of the relevant information for us to process this. For example, they must provide email address (which must be confirmed), along with their name, address, phone number etc. Payments should initially be handled by paypal, but with the option to expand into a proper merchant account in the future.

We must handle orders in this way:
1) Receive order and payment
2) Use member account details to produce a card
3) Assign the card’s serial number to the member’s account.
4) Print an automatically generated letter containing information about the card to be mailed to customer (similar to a receipt)

The website must have:
1) A great design (see above examples)
2) A safe and secure method for members to sign up
3) Features to allow for easy use and navigation of the site
4) A robust backend/admin solution (greater detail on this later on)
5) Ability to add/edit merchants, their offers, their logos etc
6) The ability to have featured merchants (who will pay for the privilege) and will have their logos in more prominent areas of the website.

Once registered, they should have access to their own member area. The features needed for this area will be described in depth later on.

Front end features:
1) Various tabs – Get Card, About, Top Discounts, Calendar, Log in, Contact etc
2) Sign up page
3) About page
4) Page to display offers from featured merchants (in prominent areas), as well as non featured (in not so prominent areas)
5) Calendar to show up coming events with discounts
6) Contact us page
7) Space for displaying paid for ads

Member area features:
1) Print special vouchers
2) View order status
3) View/edit account information
4) Order replacement card
5) Inbox for messaging system to let admin send messages to users
6) Show card expiry date (countdown)
7) Space for displaying paid for ads

Admin area features:
1) view/edit members information
2) add/edit user’s serial number for their card, set expiry dates etc
3) add/edit merchants, set merchant status (featured/non featured), upload their logos for displaying on the site, set their special offers etc
4) Set order status for member’s cards
5) View orders (current, processed) and have all information to produce the cards and print automatically generated letter with address and information to send to customer with the card.
6) Ad/edit/delete adverts

Terms:

This list is by no way exhaustive; it is likely that features will be added/changed as ideas develop. You should have an understanding of the service that we are providing and be able to input ideas of your own.

If you do not understand the project, do not bid. Feel free to ask questions first.

You must be dedicated to this project. We will NOT tolerate breaking deadlines. When submitting your bid, be REALISTIC with the time it will take you. We will allow a 20% margin for error. DO NOT BID if you have any relatives who will by dying soon – we will not accept their death as an excuse for lateness. DO NOT BID if you have an unreliable internet connection and will not be able to work for some reason. You WILL LOSE MONEY if you break deadlines.

DO NOT BID if you are not fluent in English. DO NOT BID if you cannot show examples of YOUR work.

DO NOT BID if you are difficult to contact.

50% of the money will be put into escrow which will be released when the site is uploaded and working. At this point the other 50% will be put into escrow which will be released upon FULL DETAILED TESTING and when we are completely happy with the website.

YOU WILL continue to provide support for the website once payments have been released.

IF YOU BREAK THE DEADLINE you will be fined. 10% of the total price will be removed for every 5 days after the deadline date that you are still late.

DO NOT BID if you do not accept these terms.

We are very easy to work with, but are very selective about who we will hire for this project after being let down on other projects.
