Description

I aim to establish and run a blitz chess site, and I seek a software developer who can play chess (a natural requirement given the assignment) and an ISP for hosting purposes.

The site will have:

a) members joining function (the usual type),

b) a way to establish and run blitz chess tournaments (to be specified).

Now, as a first step I am seeking a software consultant who can write a blitz chess program.

To gain an idea of the exact blitz software I wish to have developed please:

1. Goto http://gameknot.com/ and join - its free.

2. Select START GAME from the main menu.

3. In the sentence "If you prefer fast real-time games please try our Blitz Chess." follow the Blitz Chess link - note its a beta site.

4. Select play Blitz Chess and play a few games.

5. The only amendments are that:

(a) the time limit of 10 minutes a side should be able to be selected between 3 - 12 minutes, and

(b) the king can be taken (as in usual blitz chess).

Now at this stage is it feasible for your firm to be able to write such a blitz program?

If so, can you give me an indicative cost of the portion of the assignment to write the blitz software.

If that figure is acceptable then I will specify the other aspects of the site (ie. members joining function, manner to establish a tournament (similar to the types set out at http://gameknot.com/tournament.pl) etc) and a few other requirements).

I look forward to your reply in the first instance as to the feasibility or otherwise of writing of the blitz chess part of the site.

In my travels around the Net looking for information about chess software I found these sites which lists chess program sources which may be of some help to you:
