Bid On This Project

Description

1. guys as you know were running out of space on our current server (due to growth)
2. were purchasing another server, but i need to know how to troubleshoot a problem

Problem: We need the new server (that i will purchase soon) to be connected to our current server. (same server switch)

Basically the new server will be connected to our current server, and combined act like 1 big server. That way we can add more hard disk, etc.

The new server will be setup as a storage server. (we need to know how to configure it) so when logging in via ftp, cpanel, etc.. It looks like one big ass server

Your job: Our datacenter is telling us to guide them in what we want them to do with the new server, problem is i don't know how to do this ?? so i need assistance and help and possibly debugging

Well this should be simple easy task you could either cluster them ... If cPanel has that ability which I do believe it does ... Shouldn't take to long. Only thing is did you cluster the other 2 servers?

There are actually a few ways to accomplish this, however the method you described is not ideal. CPANEL is rather tricky, and adding additional confusion to the mix with the configuration you are describing is going to cost you more in the long term. It sounds like your basic need is to increase disk space, if this is the case, I have several solutions that could potentially save you from a complicated configuration across 2 machines. Not to mention that I'm sure the hosting company is financial winner in this situation, whereas you can do this without two servers. I can't talk time line until we discuss further, but if you are looking to expand disk space on a CPANEL server with a fairly current linux kernel, the process can be quick and painless provided we plan accordingly. I have plenty of experience with this process within my hosting company, and can likely offer you some helpful insight. Thank you for your time.
