This application project is to act as a supplemental learning block as I work with VB.NET, JSON, SSL and Internet protocols.

What I need / require:
I need an example application for learning purposes, to demonstrate:
1. how to login to the AIM web-based service using HttpWebRequest and WebRequest
2. enter a specified chat room
3. retrieve chat dialog on the fly
4. respond to dialog on the fly
5. how to parse JSON

The application should also demonstrate how to use threads and SyncLock in VB.NET.

What I already know versus what the provider will build:
No aspect of this project is complete but all details are publicly available! By using:
1. http://chat.aim.com/categories
2. http://dev.aol.com/aim
...the provider should have sufficient information to build the required application.

Specific expertise that I am seeking:
You should have experience with VB.NET (HttpWebRequest and WebRequest, threads and SyncLock), you should know how to parse and work with JSON, and you should know how to work with available protocol documentation.

REQUIRED: You *MUST* be available to discuss the project before it's started, while it's being developed, and after it's complete. I will require test copies to make sure the program is how I desire. Whether it be via Skype, AIM, or ICQ, your availability and communication skills are of supreme importance. While this is *not* a Full Time position, I'm looking to form a strong relationship with the programmer for follow-up questions and explanations of the source. Since this is being used as a learning example, you must make yourself available to short Q&A sessions regarding the concepts within the application.

Unreasonable bids will be rejected with *no* consideration; this should be a simple project for skilled programmers with knowledge in VB.NET, JSON, and protocol structure. If follow-up support becomes too time consuming for you, we can work on further payment or compensation options.
