Description

We are looking for a C++ MUMPS specialist who can help us to analyze software source code we want to buy from a company. The code can be opened with Microsoft Visual C++ 6 Service Pack 5.

1. Checking if all source code is available.
2. Checking the logic. Analyzing how data is selected and shown on the pages.

We agreed with the company who developed this code that we would not give the code to a third party. Therefore the analyzing of the code needs to be done by taking over the screen of one of our computers. Ww are using Webex and Teamviewer to give you access to our computer.

You need to have a good internet speed to be able to take over our computer from a remote location.

I understand that it is hard to give a pricing when you do not know how complex the code is which has been written. We expect that you need one full day to analyze the code. So do us a proposal for one day of analyzing.

We are in a hurry with this project. The first one with a good proposal will get this project. We are working this Sunday (tomorrow). So it would be great if you are available tomorrow.

Wow! I dis research in Graduate School on Interpreters and Compilers years ago including MUMPS and the "Old BASIC", as well as UNIX and Linux shells. MUMPS, was pretty big in US Government Medical IT. I know it is still used and some more modern tools exist. I have over 10 years of Visual C++ 6.0 experience and would like to assist. However, 3 to 5 days with 2-3 hours per day would allow looking at the source code and deciphering what is there versus what you expect. Is this code the source to a MUMPS implementation in Visual C++ 6.0?

I am a very experienced software engineer with over 20 years experience in C/C++ developing and managing large scale systems, typically over 500,000 lines of code. I have been involved in software acquisitions in the past where I have acquired the code after analyzing the source code. So I know want to look for. I am of course very proficient with Visual C++ 6.0 and have it installed on my machine. I can evaluate the code not only for completeness and functionality but also for sustainability. Thanks
