Description

Hi, I need somebody to setup me a fax server. It could run on Windows or Linux, I will provide a box with whatever distribution is better for that.

What it should do is that : the faxserver should check an POP or IMAP inbox, and send the PDF files attached to each e-mail to the specified sender (can be specified in subject or body). -- or any similar procedure

I want a complete solutions, i don't want to configure anything, except the initial setup of the machine (linux or windows).

Linux is preferred.

I know there are a lot of freewares that do this (HylaFax, etc..) - Please tell me what's the best to use !

Server can have 4 PCI Fax Modems, but we will start with one. The software should support at least 4 pci.

I need somebody that already did this in the past, I want it to work great, this server will receive ~3500 fax to send each week.

I'm a linux and windows server administrator with experience in setting up Hylafax on linux and I can configure Hylafax to work the way you need. For Hylafax to work on linux, you need real fax modems and not winmodems or any other emulated modems.

I can do this for you using Linux / HylaFax, fedora/centos is the preferred distro.

You will have plenty problems with PCI modems unless they are pure hardware modems. Most predictable is to buy pci extension card with 4 serial ports and use 4 external modems. I would recommend FreeBSD rather than Linux or Windows. Installation is not more difficult but safer and easier maintenance and upgrade in long-run. HylaFax is good choice for fax server, I have been using it for 6 years without any complains. Regards, Yuriy

I really know what you need because I have already implemented in my company. I use the SME server (CentOS OS) and HylaFax which receive faxes from the mailbox (POP3 or IMAP) and can support many fax modems.

HylaFax seems the best option, in my opinion.
