Description

Help! Do you know up-to-date Cold Fusion code for affiliate program links using cookies? If so, this is for you. We hired someone to set up an affiliate program for our Cold Fusion site. It is not "live" but there is now, in existence, a site for people to sign up for the affiliate program, an admin page for tracking affiliate sales, and another one listing affiliates. If an individual were to sign up to be an affiliate, an email would be sent to them with code for an affiliate link. This function works. The problem is that the code being sent to use for the links doesn't work with all end customers' OS and browsers. The tracking ID gets lost and the sale is not recorded as an affiliate sale, nor is the appropriate email announcing an affiliate sale sent out, if, for example, the end user is on a Macintosh. We need this code problem fixed, a bit of text on the sign-up page changed and the program brought live (link to the affiliate sign-up page added to tool bar on the other site pages). Tool bar button is already built and is on the sign-up page.

Hi - I created the affiliate program for Bluemoony.com which works w/ cookies. Basically the refer link sets a cookie and if a member EVER joins w/in a year the affiliate is given credit. I never ran into any issues w/ Macs, however, it is known that cookies do not always work. Some browsers are set to not accept cookies, etc. So it may be an issue out of your control, w/o another way to track the user.
