Description

We are in need of a Netbeans component that is able to show 12 bits JPEG2000 color image files. With the viewer it must be possible to view the complete range of this 12 bit.

The requirements are:
1. The component should be able to display a full 12 bits JPEG2000 color image within 1 second on a normal Pentium Duo Core based computer. Files can be up to 7MB compressed.
2. The component may use a maximum of 100MB internal memory.
3. The component should be platform independend.
4. It is not allowed to use 3rd party, licensed, products.
5. The component should support the following image enhancement functions, all have to be performed without a noticable delay for the user and can be called by external function calls. The current values for these settings can be retrieved from the component:
- Zoom in and out
- Change brightness and contrast
- Pan the image if image is too large to fit on screen
- Fit the image to the screen.
- Apply percentile normalization to the image (see http://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/rbf/HIPR2/stretch.htm)
6. The following functions must be available:
- Show multiple images from a JP2 file
- Extract XML information of the JP2 file
- Save shown JP2 to JPG file, either with or without image enhancements
8. it must be possible to re size the component.

We require the following deliverable's:
1. Source code
2. Component itself
3. Example program
4. Documentation

We will be the owner of the produced code and component. It is not allowed to sell or distribute the product to any other party than us. We will provide you with example images.
