Description

I have been running websites for 12 years using about the same technolgoy all the time. I have more and more come to wonder what is possible should technology change.

In brief, I need a know-it-all-tech-guru to look into my existing technolgy, then give me suggestions to what is better for my purpose.

One thing is very, very, very important. I don't want to use weeks and weeks to transfer things from one system to the other...

I presently use html-pages that have Server Side Includes (SSI). In brief this means that the html-pages share a few files containing basic code for the look and action of all pages inside the web site. Right now, most SSI's are pure text, there is little action.

The html-pages contain little but text, codes for photos, meta-tags.... Nothing advanced....

Also there are very nice Perl-based search engines for every web site.

I run everything through Network Solutions, so whatever they cannot provide, you should not suggest...

This job is merely a see what there is, understand its actions today, guessing a bit for possible future possibilities, and coming up with technology suggestions.

It comes without saying that the follow-up to this is a technology transfer. However gives me the best help here will have a star in my book when I post my next project to do this. Also, I plan to pick two or three winners here, to make sure that I get the best advice.

You will get files sent to understand the mechanics, but at this point no access to server.
