| Description: |
I need a tile based scrolling engine done in AS3 ISOMETRIC fashion.
There are 3 kinds of tiles to be done to limit strain on the client: A SUPER TILE that holds all SUB TILES then the ACTUAL TILES of 64x64 dimensions.
I dont need movieclips for the actual Tiles, but rather each actual tile should be filled using bitmapdata copying pixles from a png, and there will be an xml grid to assist with this.
To make sure the client runs smooth, only the visible display area needs to be filled with bitmap data. Then as you scroll left right up down or a combination, the next subtile visible should have all the ACTUAL TILES filled with their images. While at the same time the SUB TILES not visible should have all images removed.
Tile sizes should be dynamic so the map can be expanded as needed without fuss.
You should be able to zoom out and in with mouse wheel eventHandler.
So you know the direction im headed. I later plan to impliment a system that when a subtile is visible, objects will be pulled from a db, and loaded onto the ACTUAL TILES. *If you can impliment this for me, include that in your PM.
If you can include a minimap feature, include that in a PM as well.
If you have any questions, or need examples to show more clearly what im looking for let me know. If you do a good job, I will probably request you for projects related to this.

Please include in PM what of the additional features you are capeable of if any.

Concerning the zoom – I just realized when you copy pixels from a memory contact sheet (png) to the display that if you zoom in it will be pixelized because the art is no longer vector. So we will need a work around for this issue. I have a few ideas, but im still a novice at as3.
