Description

To develop this application, you should have:
• Familiarity with building an XML Web service in any language of your choice (PHP, Ruby on Rails, Java servlets, ASP, etc.)
• Location-aware data to provide to Dash users
• A website to allow users to configure your application (optional).

Familiarity with RSS, GeoRSS, and KML is good to have but not essential.

Current Title: Dash Buddy
Basic Description: The Dash Buddy can help provide mile per gallon (MPG), refueling, and oil change reminders.

MPG -
Every time a user refuels their car they can submit their current millage, location, price, and gallons to the tracking website

The tracking website will provide statics, graphs, etc... including MPG data.

Refueling -
Estimating your MPG the system can use your locational data to calculate when you might need or want to purchase fuel and attempt to locate the cheapest fuel on route.

Sometimes it might be cheaper to purchase fuel closer to work, even though you don't need fuel until you get closer to home.

Oil Change Reminder -
With the knowledge of how many miles you have driven it should have the ability to send email reminders or alerts at a user set interval. The user should also have the ability to send it back to the website via the Dash Express.

I am looking to have the website and API all developed, I would like the website to match the style and colors of dash.net (the GPS website)

I have attached a document talking about the API and how to use the system. I have had several people tell me this isn't possible, so please take a look and let me know.
