Hello, I am from the US with post graduate degrees (UC Berkeley) and English is my Mother tongue. I am a writer and editor but I have taught English while living in Europe, both with Berlitz and independently. I work with clients in person, via the internet and over the telephone to correct accents and to create a personalized vocabulary that is specific to their purpose, such as business or travel. I am an American and retired lawyer who has been teaching English and French online for over a year. My students range from absolute beginners to very advanced, and are all over the world. I use a variety of platforms with my students, ranging from the usual VOIP protocols to a full, free "virtual classroom." The focus for most is on spoken English, but about a third are working on their business written English as well. Much of my work is on accent reduction: correct vowel sounds, correct pronunciation of the letter "r," correct stress between words in a sentence, and the like. If my students are learning English to interact with anglophones, much of my vocabulary building focuses on phrasal verbs and idioms common to native English speakers that are not commonly used by people speaking English as a second language. I often use my own text materials for grammatical points, and rely heavily on authentic reading materials for my intermediate and advanced students. I also can provide references, if requested.

Based on the evaluation of main the student or group in question - this evaluation aims on the group or student general level, main English "gaps" (vocabulary, accent, language skills, etc.), and individual or group needs and learning modes. According to this diagnostic the course of 3 month is prepared. Besides holding a few teaching classes myself I train the teachers to handle the assigned classes. Preparing the classes´program for each class according to given schedule, this way, the teachers only have to follow the schedule program and the efficiency of learning is guaranted. I work with many different materials, on accent reduction for latin natives, one of the best material source I´ve found was on UCLA ESL course program.
