Description

This project requires some hardware for microprocessor, software for microprocessor and website. Minimizing hardware cost is the highest priority.

Allow Microchip PIC microprocessor to connect to PC via USB port and exchange data with a website. It is preferred that this is accomplished without requiring installation of drivers (use standard HID or other generic drivers included in Windows). The microprocessor device is very cost sensitive. FTDI and most other USB binder chips are too expensive so we seek very a inexpensive method of binding Microchip PIC to a PC USB port.

The PIC microcontroller will be used as a portable time and temperture datalogger in outdoor applications. Typically the user would bring the device into a laboratory from the field, connect the to a PC then log on to a website. On the website there would be an "upload" button which would allow the user to find and select the device. Upon device selection data can be exchanged between website and microprocessor. Data would typically consist of a 64 bit id number, date, time, and up to two thousand 32 bit numbers. This project requires some hardware for microprocessor, software for microprocessor and website.

Hello, We are an Electronic Design House based in Pune, India specializing in Prototype Projects and Design Documentation. We have a strong technical team that specializes in Embedded Hardware , Firmware and PC Based Software. We bring to the table strong design and documentation skills. We can understand the design and document it as per user needs. The engineers are extremely fluent in English and working with them will not be an issue. Development work gets done in India and we have a sales team in West LA. We have an excellent network connectivity, VOIP setup for direct communication with US/European/Middle East clients. We will be able to work on this project. We propose that we can remove USB part and can implement TCP/IP stack directly on PIC microcontroller. Design cost of project will be $250 and it will be completed in 2 months. For working prototype seperate quote will be given. This is tentative schedule from our side. If you have any plans in your mind then that will be followed and accordingly executed. We can provide references whenever required from US, India and Japan. Please let me know if any other information is required. Regards, Yogesh

I would need more details on this project. Assuming you already know which PIC you are going to use and you would need the software written for it (Coding the interface SW, Setting up the web server, devise protocol for data exchange, web site to log everything), this job would cost much more than $250. If say, you would also need the hardware design with cost optimization which includes selecting the only necessary components at the lowest cost (Schematic, PCB Layout, Gerber, prototyping). I assume that you would be needing different kinds of sensor for detecting outdoor environment. Are these sensors provided or needs to be purchased? This would be another lump sum of money. I want to know what you have currently and what you want to achieve before I can give you a quotation on price and completion date.

Dear Sir I have experience in communicating with web sites - this is nothing more than http request and sending some data which website understands.I have experience in developing firmware for microchip processors with mplab. So implementing of usb protocol on processor side seems to be the biggest challenge(if you have not already solution). My programming language is C++ Regards
