Description

1. Obtain the XML feed from http://rdtfeed.betdaq.com and edit it to remove certain supplied data elements (that I will give you) and re-save it as a smaller, more managable, XML file to a local server. It should be an automated job, doing the job at certain intervals.

2. Parse required information from the XML feed from http://rdtfeed.betdaq.com to a MySQL data base. It should be an automated job, doing the parsing at certain intervals throughout the day.


What follows are particular details of the information needed from the XML feed to be saved in both SQL and XML format.

For the purposes of this project I just need some of the data in the massive feed. In the example shown below, I need The SPORT NAME detail, the EVENT NAME detail, the SUBEVENT1 NAME details abnd the SELECTION NAME detail.

So when the program is finished I should be left with an SQL and a smaller XML containing the following details:

Horse Racing
UK Racing
14.20 Nottingham
8 Fitz Flyer
6 Enderby Spirit
11 Boho Chic
9 Master Lightfoot
3 Bens Dream
....... (and so on)
14.50 Nottingham
5 Okafranca
3 Kiribati King
1 Hendersyde
...... (and so on)

After Horse racing the process just repeats itsself for the other sports in the feed.
In other words the program just strips out the win, place and each way markets from the feed.
