|
| >>1- Can you manage both tasks 1 and 2?
Absolutely. For a large scale applications, these do not go without each other (1 and 2).
>>2- What is the starting process like, i.e. how would you start the work on the project with us?
The most important part would be that I fully understand the functioning of the application and the database. For that, I would need to replicate the environment on my system (database, application source code, development environment, etc.) as well as to ask numerous questions along the way.
>>3- What is the price (euro or dollar) you can offer us on a developer/hour basis?
Unfortunately, I can not (due to the GAF regulations) define a price per hour, but I estimate that the whole project woul dbe completed within up to 45 days (probably shorter, but I would first need to see the code). I have recently completed the transition of all my software (payroll, accounting, stock control, fixed assets etc) from VB6 and MS SQL 2000 to VB.NET 2008 and MS SQL 2005/2008 so my estimation is based on that experience.
>>4- What is your very first rough estimate on the number of hours required to perform task 1 given the information given here on the nature of the project.
Approx. 350 hours.
>>5- What is the frequency of your deliverables?
It is subject on our further discussions. However, I would recommend that I deliver samples of my progress weekly, to avoid misunderstandings. If something is not done according to your expectations, I can correct it before the deadline. That would include user interface designs, database functionality etc).
>>6- What is the frequency of your communications with us, within different phases of the project?
I expect that there will be a strong need for a communication on a daily basis (to ask minor questions, but questions that must be answered in order to continue with work), and weekly to send the weekly progress reports.
>>7- How do we communicate?
For the purpose of documenting the important stuff, over the GAF web site and by e-mail. For most urgent conversations, by phone (I speak fluent english, and my first language is Serbian).
>>8- Do you have any favorite web based project management environments (what are the underlying technologies you would use for that, trac, subversion and so on)
Actually, I don't, or I did not fully understand the question. I use the combination of Visual Studio (mostly VB.NET) 2008, with the MS SQL Server 2005 (and 2008 CTP) as the database, and Crystal Reports as the reporting engine.
>>9- How are the payments made? (before or after deliverables)
It would be highly unrpofessional to ask for the payment before the whole project is completed. If we agree on all conditions, payment would be done through ESCROW on GetAFreelancer.
-------------------------------------------
All applications I make are done for multi-language environment. Therefore, it is easy to add another language, from within the application itself. Secondly, all applications I do are fully tested before the final delivery.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions. I would be more than happy to answer all of them. Due to the regulations of GAF I am not allowed to leave the contact information, otherwise it would be the best option if we can communicate by phone too, at this stage.
Regards!

| Hi there, as you want for the bidder to answer the questions you asked, so I will answer them. 1- Can you manage both tasks 1 and 2? Absolutely. 2- What is the starting process like, i.e. how would you start the work on the project with us? Firstly, I will surely learn the process, all the business rules, and the architecture of the old system. We can start from that point. 3- What is the price (euro or dollar) you can offer us on a developer/hour basis? I can not offer you the price of hourly base, but I estimate the total of this project will be cost around $3000. 4- What is your very first rough estimate on the number of hours required to perform task 1 given the information given here on the nature of the project. For the rough count of the estimated time, it will be 6 hours per day in 30 days, so probably 180 hours. 5- What is the frequency of your deliverables? Every week I will report the progress of the project including all the work done in the period. 6- What is the frequency of your communications with us, within different phases of the project? I will available everyday, but as the rule in GAF not to show our contact detail, so you can contact me via this site. 7- How do we communicate? Answered in point 6-. 8- Do you have any favorite web based project management environments (what are the underlying technologies you would use for that, trac, subversion and so on). I prefer use the microsoft based technology in maintaining web sites and other applications. The .NET framework 2.0 (or the latest version - 3.5 - as long as your server could provide it) and SQL Server 2005. 9- How are the payments made? (before or after deliverables) The payments will be deliver in 3 periods, first before the project kickoff, 30%, second as the project completed, 50%, and last as the bugs and all the needs of your require completed, 20%. That's my bid, can't wait to hear from you. Regards, Studioafterhours.
