Description

The project is to create a flash video player, so that other webmasters may have a videobox playing promotional product videos streaming from our server.

A “flash var” in the embed code will specify which video ID to play, and the player should fetch details from an XML/CSV/MYSQL file such as description and product name to be displayed over the video.

A “buy” button will be located in the top right corner of the videobox, which will take the user to the URL specified in the data file. This URL will also need to take one parameter from the flash var code used to include the player in a page.

Javascript skills to create the “embed code” generation page variables would be a bonus, but are not necessary – we are happy to create this part of the project ourselves – we can use test embed code with test variables to test the player.

Please include in your bid:

•How the administrator will add new videos with your solution (via a friendly PHP/MYSQL database, or by FTPing an XML file)
•If you intend to use any third party components or copyrighted material, or will need to purchase an additional component
•How long the project is expected to take.

You will be provided with FTP access to a testing server, including the spreadsheet of video details, the raw FLV files and MYSQL database access if necessary.

You must inform us of any licenses (open source or paid) required to use components you will use before the project is started.
