Description

I need help configuring my Ubuntu server to allow Remote desktop operation from my Windows XP PC over SSH using the following apps.

SERVER SIDE:

GNOME desktop

VNC server (running on server)

CLIENT SIDE:

VNC Viewer (running on xp machine)

PUTTY.

I have installed all the apps but I am struggling to configure them correctly.

I need VNC to autostart when the server is booted.

An experienced linux guru is needed!

Hi, I have prior experience setting up ssh tunnels on ubuntu desktops. For your configuration to work, you need to figure out what port the vncserver on your ubuntu is listening. You need to create a tunnel from the port your vncviewer sends request to the port the vncserver accepts connection. There might be some tweaking needed in vncserver conf files on your ubunutu system. Ashish
