Hello,

I'm using Windows 2003 SBS servers. I'm trying to configure reverse DNS settings for the pool of IP addresses that our ISP allocated to us. I asked them to give us control of the IPs and they said they enabled it and wrote this message:

to configure:

xx.yy.zz.25.rev.mydomain.com. IN PTR the name of your choice
...
to
...
xx.yy.43.30.rev.mydomain.com. IN PTR the name of your choice

and you will then have the reverse of your choice
-------------------------------------------------------------------

When I go to AOL reverse DNS tool (http://postmaster.aol.com/tools/rdns.html), I get this message:

DNS Server Response:
No PTR but got:
27.zz.yy.xx.in-addr.arpa. 3600 IN CNAME xx.yy.zz.27.rev.mydomain.com.
-----------------------------

When I use NSLOOKUP to that IP address from my current ISP's DNS server (not the one that allocated the IP pool) after setting the type to PTR, I get no result. If I change the server to mine (xx.yy.zz.27), I get responses.

I need help in configuring the Reverse DNS settings.
