Description

I need to develop an Excel formula that does the following:

1. Assess spread of numbers in one column (e.g. numbers may range from 1 - 500)
2. Assign rank of 1 to 10 to each number (in next column), based upon it's value. Rank must be worked out on a volume basis. i.e. the first 10% (of total numbers listed in column) of lowest value numbers are assigned rank 1. The next 10%m, as value increases, will be ranked 2.

This tool must work for any volume of numbers listed in a column. Rank will always be from 1 - 10.

I am sure there is a statistical mathematical term for this - please let me know if you know this.
