Description
Purpose of this ventureTo build a network of related web sites, facilitating the interaction whereby buyers can connect with sellers of goods and services in their local area.
There is one main web site, where all industries will be listed. These will be complemented by a niche web site for each industry e.g. a site just for plumbers and a site just for hairdressers etc. Over the course of a two year roll out, up to 100 niche sites may be launched. This of course hinges on the relative success of the initial sites.
Various offline marketing methods will be used to attract sellers who pay a small investment annually to be listed.
The advertisers will be 100% from Australia. However, if successful the Directors wish to roll out to New Zealand, USA, UK and South Africa.
Search function
Users of the site must be able to search either by postcode or by state and region. You must be clear with me as to what you require to be able to set up an appropriate database for this.
The first search function is by postcode of which there are 16,500 postcodes in Australia. I can supply a list of Australian postcodes and the name of the suburbs in Excel format. If the user enters a postcode where there are no advertisers, they should automatically be redirected to the search by state and region.
For the state and regional search, there will be approximately 12 or so regions per state. I will stipulate the names of the regions to be included for each state. Note that the advertiser will need to select the region when they submit their details.
This search function should be developed once and leveraged across the network of web sites. This means that I want the search function perfected the first time to minimise cost for the next 100 sites.
Order form
The order form should capture the following details;
· Client name and contact details
· Credit card details (note that there is no need to integrate a payment processor, just take down their details for my offline credit card processor)
It then needs to automatically update the two web sites. By this I mean the main site and the niche web site.
An email should be sent straight to a designated email address with the credit card details.
Look and feel
Take a look at Google. The site must be clean with lots of white space. It should mirror the look and feel of Google. I have sketched what I want for the design and will send to winning bidder. It is essentially very basic.
Time frame
I require the web site to be operational within 3 weeks from the conclusion of the bidding process. The sooner the better.
Requirements
· Web site design (as per sketch)
· Database development
· Ability to automatically upload new advertisers who sign up through the web
· Order form where advertiser inserts their details and then the site automatically uploads to include their details. Form needs to be able to record credit card details but not process them.
Other pages
There will be 3 additional pages to the site (excluding of course the search function detailed above). They will be as follows;
1. Advertising programmes, including the online order form.
2. Links to the niche sites as noted above.
3. About us.
How to quote for this job
You must read this section carefully as quotes that miss key details will not be considered.
As noted above there is one main site and many niche sites. I need a quote for;
1. The main site; and then
2. The niche sites
I expect that the niche site will be really inexpensive as they will use the same database. Please quote on a per site basis, i.e. for each niche site. Bearing in mind the incredible potential for ongoing work through new niche sites and for maintenance going forward.
I also need a quote for ongoing maintenance. Please quote in your preferred method, either monthly retainer or hourly rate.
Do not send me links to your graphic design prowess, as that expertise is not wanted nor is it needed here. Please however select your best example of a database web site that you have developed and forward the link via PM.
