Description

I have a site on Wordpress which essentially consists of many posts, each of which is a narrative and photos of a Roman coin. The search engine works beautifully, but a visitor needs to have some familiarity with Roman coinage in order to find coins specific to his wants: for instance, enter in the emperor Trajan and you get a list of all of Trajan's coins, click on each and up come the photos and narrative about that coin. Enter in Trajan Sol and up would come just those coins of Trajan that also feature Sol on its reverse (side opposite portrait side). But as you see, you have to know what you're looking for specifically, so hard to browse my site, though the search engine works superbly. What I want is a navigation bar, or list of emperors on the side of my home page, so the visitor can click on that emperor or empress or other person and get that person's list of coins and take it from there. I would just want the list in, say, a vertical arrangement, names only, to make my site more "user-friendly." If the more advanced collector wants something more specific he/she can use the search engine to enter in keywords relating to legends, gods, goddesses, etc. I don't want the navigation bar to be that specific. There is currently no order to the coins except by date. Last thing, hopefully: that once set up I can be "taught" how to, when I post a new coin, to categorize it so it appears when that emperor is clicked. Thanks! Kim
