To be brutally honest your site needs to be a little more substantial before Google/Yahoo/MSN will take it seriously. You need 20+ well balanced pages. The other well ranked pages for keyman insurance are all fairly substantial, though not very well optimised so you have a good chance of getting into that important top 10. There are also some design problems with your site but that's beyond the scope of this project. I can do quite a lot for you apart from that and give you a large task list to follow up on. Traffic feeds are many and varied these days as the technology changes. Here's a check list I use for SEO: 1. Website Optimization a. META Tags i. Keywords & Keyword Groups ii. Descriptions – What your visitors see at the search engines iii. Titles – Displays in the browser window b. Pages i. Keyword distribution – looking for 3% – 5% even page density. ii. Images (ALT tags) – You can generate 20% traffic through image search. iii. Video? iv. Headings v. No flash - look at Amazon, Ebay and other big sites – no flash. vi. Outbound links – only to relevant sites, preferably non profit sites, no more than 5 per page. vii. NO frames – these are not navigable by the SE spiders. c. Inbound Links i. Inbound links sites – very important, best from big respected sites, avoid paid directories google penalises these now. ii. Link exchanges – good for small growing sites, more long term strategy. iii. Specialty Hubs And Directories > Google Wide iv. Specialty Hubs And Directories > Google Tight v. Specialty Hubs And Directories > Yahoo! Wide vi. Yahoo! Wide Specialty Hubs And Directories > Yahoo! Tight vii. Quality & relevancy are a priority viii. Articles – article sites need to be fed regularly but are highly regarded by the big search engines – good for traffic. ix. EzineArticles.com article feed & widgets x. RSS Feeds especially ArticleBiz.com, EzineArticles.com and ArticleDashboard.com xi. Social bookmarking e.g. Articlebiz.com, StumbleUpon xii. Expert pages e.g. SelfGrowth.com and EzineArticles.com xiii. Craigslist.org – ads – good traffic 1. advertise a service 2. announce an event 3. post accommodations for rent 4. sell hard goods or e-goods 5. sell real estate xiv. Shopping site free postings & personal ads xv. Ebay – This is a huge hub xvi. Wikipedia, WikiTravel – you get a credit and a link for submissions. Must be high quality. xvii. Yahoo Answers - xviii. Press Releases e.g. http://www.prweb.com d. Website i. Tier structure ii. No frames iii. Copywriting iv. Blogs v. News releases vi. Alexa toolbar vii. Google dashboard viii. Yahoo Account ix. Verification x. Sitemaps xi. Google Maps – List Business 2. Sales a. Pre-Selling Copy b. Up Sells c. Bumps d. Guarantees e. Authority – how long in business, publish sales figures f. Celebrity endorsement…as seen on… g. Free trials? Samples? etc. h. Security – SSL i. Testimonials j. Price compare sites k. Patent no.’s l. Strong customer service presence m. History of development n. Personalise- photos o. Pricing p. Product funnel – good value low cost – accelerated pricing 3. Podcasting/Blogcasting - distribute to your audience your PDF files, images, audio or video files 4. Search Engines a. Google b. Yahoo c. MSN Live d. Ask 5. Directories a. DMOZ b. Free Directories 6. PPC/PCM – pay per click and pay for display – if you can find cheap effective keywords then OK, otherwise this can be a waste of money. 7. Ebooks & catalogues – distributed through peer to peer. Leave extracted copy in ebooks at the various peer to peer bit torrent networks like isohunt and mininova. 8. Ezine publishing – free online magazines encourage return visits. Never more than once a month, best is probably every two months. Provide value. 9. Email list building- collect emails, use incentives (comps etc.) – farm existing customers 10. Opt-in lists – client lists 11. Affiliate program
