I have read your requirements and feel that there is a great fit as we have done a lot of work with FTP sites and connectivity. Currently, we are finishing an sFTP project for automatic replication, so that each time a client saves a file on their PC it is securly transmitted to a central sFTP site where it is then encrypted and stored; essentially an online backup that runs in the background from wherever the user is as long as they are connected.
