Description

We have a VB6 project that needs a user management module.

We need a program to manage the users of the system.

We need to allocate rights to these users, and have a method of checking those rights from our main app.

We are looking for vb code and an access database.

The database will contain 1 table, with 1 record per user. Each record will have an encrypted username and password and a bitmap (or whatever) to indicate the rights of that user. We will define the rights as constants, say "may view the stock balance" = 1, "may amend the stock" = 2 etc.

Each record will have a crc field of the unencrypted data to prevent hacking.

We will need a callable routine from our main app.

It will verify the username and password.
It will verify the current "logged in" user has the right to do what they are doing.
