Bid On This Project

Description

I am working on a Visual Basic application (must be done in Visual Studio 2005) and have a short time line and other work to do. It is a one screen/form app where the user selects a source folder/directory and a destination folder/directory and this part is completed.

The source folder/directory has sub-folders/directories and each sub-folder contains .pdf files. There are also .pdf files residing directly in the source folder/directory.

Once the source and destination folders are selected, the user clicks a button (already there) and the code needs to do the following processing of files:

Copy all the .pdf files from the source directory and its sub-directories into the destination folder without the sub-folders/sub-directories.

This is only the first step in a bigger process - but I want to bid just this step immediately. I will provide the source code as it is so far. I need the source code back, ideally within a 12 hour turn-a-round.

I'd prefer programmer in India because they can be working while I am sleeping and in the morning I can take over then give them whatever the next step is after whatever I complete here tomorrow.

I'd like to select a freeelancer for this project by 9 AM India time.

I can do this pretty easily.. in fact, if you give me details of the whole project, i will be able to tell you now whether i will be able to help you with the full project.. p.s. here is the code you need for it to recusivly get files from directorys and copy the files.. dim filename Dim folders = My.Computer.FileSystem.GetFiles("location of .pdf files", FileIO.SearchOption.SearchAllSubDirectories) For Each file In folders filename = filename + 1' My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile(file, "c: wherever you want the files to go" & filename, True) Next 'all your pdf's will get renamed like 0.pdf, 1.pdf, 2.pdf, and so on. also, i would add a folderbrowser dialog so to make selection of source and desination folders easier..

Hi, Databasee4u. Though not in India, I am not limited to any certain work hours. To me, day and night are the same. I can have this copy routine coded before am tomorrow. All *.*.pdf files from the chosen main source directory down, including files within all sub-directories, will be copied into the users chosen destination directory.
