This bid is for the functionality mentioned in the PDF. Some points i need clarification about are : 1. Program will run from a windows 2003 server share on windows XP machines running Office 2003/2007. Will this be installed on the win2003 machine or on XP machine? from what I understand, it will be physicaly installed on the windows 2003 machine and this directory will be shared over the LAN/ network to client terminals running Windows XP. This also looks like a standard configuration. 2. Is it mandatory for this to run on MS-Access ? or can it be on SQL Server/ mySQL? The reason is because of the possibility of the tables in an Access database reaching the max rows limit due to the check in check out entries that will happen. Additionally, the MS -Access database will become slower as the file size increases and there ios a security issue also due to it being a single file as against a regular RDBMS. If SQL server is a costly option, you could consider SQL Express as a possibility. 3. About the "Ability to add/update item fields from admin section" will this allow the administrator to delete fields for which data had beensaved in the past ? This will technicaly allow the Admin to destroy valueable data. I as a software consultant would not advise doing this. The ability to show/ hide this from reports is possible and recommended. 4. The term category assignment is not clear- is this like "Cutting Tools/ Drilling Tools etc " - based on function or based on the power source like pneumatic/ electrical etc ? Please clarify. 5. I noticed "Custom fields – ability to add in admin section" in many sections, Will a different solution like "Notes" field with a large capacity of data work ? I make provision for All types of contact information for any person/ business entity so this feature may not really be useful. 6. The user levels have been mentioned but not clarified. Do you need any levels more than - a. Administrator- Full Access. b. Supervisor/ Foreman - Access for checking In / Checking Out all items, including kittable items, under any category. c. Worker- Allowed access to Check Out and Check in Only items allowable to him for the particular work that he is assigned/ trade that he represents like - a carpenter/ wood worker may not be able to check out a pipe wrench and plumbing supplies . Or a electrical technician will not be allowed to check out items related to masonry as a trade. If this is what you desire, let me know or if you desire anything different from the above, let me know.

It would better to develop web based using asp.net c#/vb.net and mssql backend, if you have good network infrastructure with at least Windows xp propessional to host the application.if you have a public ip then you can access through internet also.We can do it without any hassle and can develop web based or as your requirement.
