Hi, I have recently started a similar project. I worked at software and at hardware. My software is fully made in C language using Windows' API's. The soft has a very comfortable interface, where you can open the code to burn in Intel Hex(.hex) and in binary(.bin). You can select the device you want to burn and then just press the icon with the "Burn" logo. The interface to communicate with hardware is based on USB, and the hardware powers itself from USB. The hardware is detectable in the software, and each time the soft talks to the hard, they have a special protocol to make sure that all is all right. The programmer is able to do operations such as read device, clear device, burn device, verify device. The software works fine at all in older windows (like win98) and NT ones (like XP). I also have the necessary drivers needed for USB, for win95,98,Me,2000,XP,Vista,and Vista 64 bits The soft is really universal for all windows platforms, as it is simply C code and uses all the Windows API to make the windows, menues, icons, state bars, etc...To make an idea, it is like WinPic. All developed by me. It is not expensive in materials, to produce. It will really find a good place in the market to be placed

Hi, I would like to take up this project as I have already made such prototype for my own use. I use LPT-Parallel Port/RS232 interface for hardware with PC. The algorithm is equally split between hardware and software. If you need any other interface between computer and hardware, please let me know. Thank you

I made a 89C51 programmer several years ago. It communicates with host PC via RS232. I used assembly for target firmware and Delphi for host PC (Windows) program. I can port host program to VB for you.
